Surrey Border Movie Makers

Surrey Border has something for everyone who is interested in any aspect of movie making regardless of age, equipment or experience. Many members work individually, but for those who enjoy working with a team, there are opportunities to participate in all aspects of production, from initial concept development and scripting, through to the shoots themselves, editing and post production. Members often start with absolutely no experience but quickly find their niche and discover the experience of group film making satisfying from both artistic and social perspectives, with the knowledge that something worthwhile has been achieved at the end.

About the Club

We are a social film making club in Farnham, Surrey. We capture video using camcorders, pocket ‘still’ cameras and even phones

to make our films. Many members are switching to full high definition recording now small pocket cameras capture this so well.

Visitors are always welcome and the first visit is free. Come on the first Friday of each month at 7:45pm to The St Joan’s Centre. No equipment or experience necessary! Just come along and have some fun.

Surrey Border Movie Makers  extend a warm welcome to anyone interested in any aspect of film and video making. Our membership extends to people of all ages from 14 up 90+ whose common interest is making movies and having fun.

We run training courses if you need some help and run competitions for those who like want to win awards. The club is a great way to meet new friends with a common interest. You can join a group or film crew or create a production and have people join you. The possibilities are endless and only limited by your imagination.

SBVC LocationWe meet each first Friday of the month in the brand new and very modern St. Joan’s Centre which is beside St Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 19 Tilford Road,Farnham, Surrey GU9 8DJ, just 200 yards South of Farnham Station.

Directions to us by car

From the Farnham Bypass (A31) at traffic lights take the turning for Farnham Station (B3001). NB from Guildford this is a left turn. From the opposite direction there is NO RIGHT TURN, so turn left and turn round etc! Go over the level crossing at Farnham Station. Take the right fork onto Tilford Road. Look out for the second road a short distance up on the right called Alfred Road. Turn left directly opposite this into what looks little more than a gap in the hedge marked after dark by red reflectors. You will find your free car park beside the church a short way down. The St Joan’s Centre is on the far side of the church from the car park.
