A HANDS ON ACTION EVENING \u2013 FILMING A LIVE BAND <\/b><\/span><\/p>

After a very successful event in Surrey Border Movie Makers 2025 Programme where club members had the opportunity to create a film of a live band performing, the club was recently contacted and asked if they could produce promotional film footage for another band, this was agreed and arranged for the clubs April meeting. Several club members took on various filming roles with <\/span>John Blackman <\/b><\/span>taking on the task of Director<\/span> <\/b>with the assistance of<\/span> Mike Sanders.<\/b><\/span> Andrew Hillary<\/b><\/span> who is an experienced lighting Guru took care of the backdrop for the band and the important task of lighting. Several cameras were used to capture as many angles and varied footage as possible, the camera operators were <\/span>Jack Visser, Dick Grainger, Peter Stratford, Cameron Gilroy, Adrian Smith <\/b><\/span>and<\/span> Keith Bagot. Tom Simpson, Jonathan Hill, Camilla Martin, Sophia Bagheri <\/b><\/span>and<\/span> Al Wheeler <\/b><\/span>also contributed<\/span> <\/b>by taking close ups of band members and their instruments on their iphones\u2019s.<\/span><\/p>

<\/b>New members, or those with less experience but keen to learn were also very much involved. When everything was set up and ready to roll several takes for the different shots and angles of the band members in action (Keyboards, lead guitar bass guitar, drums, female vocalist and male vocalist) were made covering the four songs which the band (Horizon) had chosen. <\/span>Brian O\u2019Connell <\/b><\/span>organised<\/span> <\/b>a <\/span>\u2018Making of\u2019<\/b><\/span> film of the night which involved <\/span>Peter Frost<\/b><\/span> and <\/span>Sophia Bagheri<\/b><\/span> interviewing the band and club members. The footage for the <\/span>\u2019Making of\u2019<\/b><\/span> film was taken by <\/span>Brian O\u2019Connell<\/b><\/span> and <\/span>Peter Frost. <\/b><\/span>Club Chairman <\/span>Mike Sanders<\/b><\/span> was in control of collating and downloading the immense quantity of footage which had been generated during the evening. Check our website to see some of the edited results of the filming in the coming weeks.<\/span><\/p>

Two other important club members to mention are <\/span>Kathy <\/b><\/span>and <\/span>Hugh Le Fanu<\/b><\/span> who kindly offered to make sure that the tea, coffee and biscuits were in plentiful supply during the evening.<\/span><\/p>

The next meeting is on Friday 1<\/b><\/span>st<\/b><\/span><\/sup> May where the results of the Edit Exercise with the theme of \u2018Darkness\u2019 will be shown and discussed.<\/b><\/span><\/p>
