COMPETITION PREPARATION AND BRAINSTORMING EVENING<\/b><\/span><\/p>

Groups of Surrey Border Movies Makers members will be making short films to be completed in an evening, these will be shown at the July meeting. In preparation for this a selection of previous <\/span>\u2018Film in an Evening\u2019<\/b><\/span> entries were shown at the June meeting as examples. These included <\/span>\u2018Office of Special Interest\u2019<\/b><\/span> made by the <\/span>Oddbod <\/b><\/span>team in a 2 hour filming session this was followed by <\/span>\u2018Framed\u2019<\/b><\/span> by the <\/span>Klondyke <\/b><\/span>team, <\/span>\u2018Clue Dunnit\u2019<\/b><\/span> followed which was made by <\/span>Tim Stannard<\/b><\/span> and based on characters from Cluedo, Tim used a voiceover by a single narrator which was easier and much simpler to use for a quick film shoot. There is also an opportunity coming up for members to make a <\/span>1 Minute<\/b><\/span> Epic<\/b><\/span> or <\/span>30 Second Advert, <\/b><\/span>previous entries for these were shown which included the following: <\/span>\u2018Cody the Aviator\u2019<\/b><\/span> by <\/span>Colin Lewis,\u2019 Hot Wheels Test Drive\u2019 <\/b><\/span>by<\/span> Dave Skertchly, \u2018La Ver Rouille\u2019 <\/b><\/span>by<\/span> Philip Morley, \u2018No Escape\u2019 <\/b><\/span>by<\/span> John Hawthorne. <\/b><\/span>The<\/span> 30 Second Advert <\/b><\/span>examples shown<\/span> <\/b>were <\/span>\u2018Divine Happiness\u2019<\/b><\/span> by <\/span>Colin Lewis,\u2019 Snowplough\u2019<\/b><\/span> by <\/span>Philip Morley<\/b><\/span>, <\/span>\u2018Wind Away\u2019<\/b><\/span> by <\/span>Alan Butcher.<\/b><\/span><\/p>

Recently the club was approached to make a short promo film for <\/span>Elmbridge Choir, <\/b><\/span>this was created<\/span> <\/b>by<\/span> Mike Sanders <\/b><\/span>and<\/span> Philip Morley. <\/b><\/span>Mike gave a very interesting talk and PowerPoint presentation on how the event was filmed and edited and also how the multiple music tracks were compiled. This was a multi camera filming session with just two operators and with approximately 110 people attending the event 80 of which were in the choir it was a very enjoyable and successful challenge.<\/span><\/p>

After the coffee break members gathered around tables in groups for a brainstorming session to create ideas for the upcoming <\/span>30 Second Advert<\/b><\/span> competition.<\/span><\/p>

The next meeting is on Friday 3<\/b><\/span>rd<\/b><\/span><\/sup> July where the results of the \u2018Film in an Evening\u2019 challenge will be shown. The audience will be voting via a show of hands on the night.<\/b><\/span><\/p>
