Ai

OpenAi o3 (and AGi?)

Open Ai has just announced o3, a successor to their earlier model o1. Their o1 was only announced about 3 months ago., all of which shows that far from slowing down, as some have suggested, the rate of Ai development continues to accelerate. The image above compares the performance of o3 to the earlier o1 model .

The two YouTube videos below are self explanatory and some of the best that I have seen in helping explain some of the nuances with this development and announcement.

For context, AGi is defined as an artificial intelligence that, when presented with an unfamiliar task, is capable of performing that task as well as any human being.

About six years ago it was predicted that AGi might be achieved as soon as by the end of this century.

About two years ago it was thought by a ‘crazy few’ that it might be as soon as 2050 that we might get there.

20th December 2024 is the date that Open Ai have announced their belief that they had achieved the AGi landmark milestone.
