New Competition Officer – John Hawthorne

Hi, 

I’m John Hawthorne the new competition committee member. In case you are wondering about my back story I have organised a few competitions in the dark and distant past but alas not film related. In my past life I was a  Sports shopkeeper (In Fetcham and Wallington)  I used to organise Tennis Competitions at South Croydon Tennis Club and Sutton Highfields.  The key is people have to enjoy taking part – ideally we want people to enjoy the competition so its not a chore to get done…

With Sport its relatively easy but when you are talking about something more artistic and with “wishy washy” parameters as to what Film making is – it become more complex. So bear with me…. I’m bound to have a few cock-ups. I will probably try something really simple that anyone can have a bit of fun doing but also lets those with ambition run wild – but what on earth is that????
